This is batch 6 of Glenallachie's 21-year-old, bottled at cask strength of 52.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Billy Walker chose four casks for it, a mix of Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry puncheons and hogsheads.
The nose brings ripe dark cherries and brandied honeycomb, with spiced orange, thick treacle and blackberry tart. On the palate there is dark chocolate, dried red berries and maraschino cherries, followed by heather honey and crystallised ginger.
Plum brandy and mocha run through the finish.
