This is a 4 year old peated single malt from GlenAllachie, bottled at a cask strength of 60.2%. It is the Future Edition of the trilogy Billy Walker introduced to mark his 50 years in the whisky trade, alongside the Past and Present editions.
It matured in ex-rye, bourbon and virgin oak casks. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The nose brings dried fruit, toasted honeycomb, dark chocolate and glowing oak. The palate has cinnamon, heather honey and pickled pears, then toasted almonds with a touch of pipe tobacco, and later vanilla toffee and a hint of tropical fruit. The finish is long, with fruit, oak and fine peat smoke.
