GlenAllachie – 7 Year Old Hungarian Virgin Oak (70cl)

GlenAllachie 7 Year Old Hungarian Virgin Oak is a Speyside single malt from Batch 3 of the distillery's Virgin Oak Series. It is a limited edition, bottled at natural colour and non-chill filtered. The whisky first matured in American oak ex-bourbon barrels, then spent around 18 months in Hungarian virgin oak casks from the Zemplen Forest, in northeast Hungary near the Tokaj wine region. The nose offers heather honey, cinnamon and orchard fruit. On the palate come red berries, gingerbread, toasted nuts and warming spice, with vanilla, nutmeg and ripe plums beneath. The finish is long and oaky, with soft tannins and hints of milk chocolate.
