This is the eight-year-old single malt from GlenAllachie, in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. Master Distiller Billy Walker built it from Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry puncheons, with a small share of virgin oak casks and red wine barriques.
The spirit has a bronze colour. Heather honey and butterscotch lead, with sweet spices and hints of stem ginger alongside.
The nose offers heather honey, butterscotch and cinnamon, followed by ginger, toasted almonds and mocha. On the palate come treacle, dried sultanas and butterscotch, with cinnamon, peppermint and honeycomb.
