GlenAllachie 8 Year Old is a Speyside single malt bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The whisky was matured in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry puncheons, with smaller parcels of virgin oak and red wine barriques. It is the sherry-led core of the range overseen by Billy Walker, who bought the distillery in 2017.
In the glass it is described as having heather honey, butterscotch, cinnamon, ginger, toasted almonds and mocha on the nose. The palate brings treacle, dried sultanas and peppermint over honeycomb, and the finish is long and warming, with sherry sweetness and oak spice.
