This is a 10 year old Glenallachie from Speyside, bottled at 48% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was selected by Billy Walker and released as a limited edition of 15,600 bottles.
The whisky was finished in red wine casks from Grattamacco, the second oldest estate in the Bolgheri area of Tuscany. The result is a honeyed whisky with a well balanced finish. The colour is rose gold.
The nose is full of dark chocolate, caramel and heather honey, with blackcurrant, caramelised brown sugar and cinnamon. On the palate come waves of ripe red berries, grapefruit and toasted honey cake, followed by caramel, sugared fruit and black truffle.
