This is a 19 year old GlenAllachie from the Masters of Wood series, bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle, without added colour and without chill filtration.
The whisky was first matured in bourbon casks, then given a longer finish in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks that had spent more than 55 years in traditional solera systems.
The nose has burnt plums, intense mocha and gingerbread, with caramel, molasses and rich cocoa. On the palate are plum syrup, dark treacle and warm heather honey, then black cherries, mocha and brandy-soaked fruit with candied cinnamon and ginger.
