This is a peated Speyside single malt, five years old, made by GlenAllachie for the Meikle Tòir brand. It is bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle, with no added colour and without chill-filtration.
The whisky matured in first-fill bourbon barrels and in virgin Chinquapin oak barrels, made from fresh oak from Missouri. Meikle Tòir is the project of industry veteran Billy Walker together with GlenAllachie, aiming at a peated Speyside malt of its own kind. The name is Gaelic for 'great mission'.
The oak brings robust notes of sweet spices and roasted nuts, set alongside the peat smoke.
