GlenAllachie Sinteis Part 3, 2014, is a Speyside single malt from a series named after the Gaelic word for synthesis. This chapter pairs two kinds of cask: French virgin oak and Oloroso sherry puncheons.
The virgin oak is Limousin oak from central France, air-dried for 15 months before filling. Its wide grain brings more contact between spirit and wood, with notes of honey, orange peel, gentle spice and a little earthiness. Oloroso is the darkest of the dry sherry styles and is known for nuts and dried fruit.
