Glendalough Double Barrel is an Irish single grain whiskey from County Wicklow, bottled at 42% in a 750ml bottle. It is distilled from malted barley and corn in Coffey stills.
The whiskey matures first in flame-charred ex-bourbon American oak barrels. It then finishes in Oloroso sherry casks chosen by the distillery team from a bodega in Montilla, in southern Spain.
The nose is dark fruit, with cherry, raisin and fig, and a light floral note. The palate is sweet and creamy, with butterscotch, honey, dates and almond, and a peppery edge. The finish is medium, with ginger spice, vanilla and a hint of almond.
