Glendalough – Double Barrel Irish Whiskey (75cl, 42%)

Glendalough Double Barrel is a single grain Irish whiskey, matured first in American bourbon barrels and then finished for six months in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks. It is bottled at 42% in a 75cl bottle, reduced to strength with Wicklow mountain water. The nose is creamy and malty, with vanilla, white chocolate and buttery fudge, and cooking apples, white grapes, marzipan icing and toasted oak behind. On the palate come caramel, salty melted butter and crème anglaise, with blackberries and marmalade underneath. The finish is polished oak with a hint of wood spice.
