Glendalough Irish Single Grain Double Barrel is an Irish single grain whisky bottled at 42% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
It is matured in two kinds of cask. It starts in ex-bourbon barrels, which bring vanilla and a light caramel note, and then moves to ex-oloroso casks, which add dried fruit and spice. The colour is a bright gold.
The nose is fresh fruit with sweet spice and a hint of chocolate. The palate is soft and round, growing in complexity, and the finish is long and gently spicy.
