Glendalough Pot Still is a triple-distilled Irish single pot still whiskey at 43% ABV, in a 750ml bottle. It is made in County Wicklow from a mashbill of two parts unmalted barley to one part malted barley.
The spirit is aged for three years in ex-bourbon casks, then given up to one more year in virgin Irish oak. Those casks come from oak trees about 140 years old, grown in the Wicklow mountains near the distillery.
The nose is vanilla, caramel, citrus, banana and treacle, with leather and a trace of lemongrass. The palate is creamy, with caramel, dried apple, pine nut, clove and black pepper. The finish is medium, with mild baking spices, light honey and a faint oak dryness.
