Glendalough – Single Cask Calvados XO Cask Finish Irish Whiskey (75cl, 42%)

This is a single cask Irish whiskey from Glendalough, distilled in the Wicklow Mountains. It was matured first in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, then finished in French oak casks that previously held XO Calvados, the Normandy apple brandy, for six years or more. Each bottle comes from a single cask and carries its own cask and bottle numbers. It is bottled at 42% ABV. The nose is floral, with vanilla, honey and orchard fruit. The palate brings butterscotch, toffee, stewed apples and pears, cinnamon and honey. The finish has green apple skins and woody spice.
