GlenDronach 18 Year Old is a Highland single malt from the distillery James Allardice founded in 1826 near Forgue in Aberdeenshire. It comes in a 75cl bottle at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered and at natural colour.
The whisky spent eighteen years in Oloroso sherry casks from Andalucía, Spain. Dr Rachel Barrie, the master blender, looks after the house style.
Tasting notes describe an antique bronze colour and a nose of fudge, dark muscovado sugar, fruit compote and morello cherry. The palate is rich and dark, with stewed fruits, allspice, aged Oloroso character, toasted walnut bread and chocolate orange.
