This is a 1989 Glendronach, 26 years old, from a single Oloroso sherry cask. It is bottled at 54.8% in a 70cl bottle, as a limited edition of 557 bottles released in 2016.
The colour is deep amber. Peppery oak and spices come through the nose over stewed dark fruits and dried apricots, with subtle orange peel adding a crisp edge. On the palate are sour plums in dark molasses with a hint of orange marmalade, surrounded by rich espresso and cigar box spices.
