GlenDronach 40 Year Old is a Highland single malt from The GlenDronach Distillery, near Huntly, bottled at its natural cask strength of 43.9% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It leads the distillery's ultra-premium collection, launched in September 2025.
The 2025 Edition is drawn from hand-selected casks distilled in 1978, 1983 and 1984, matured in Spanish oak Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. It is non-chill-filtered, has no added colour, and comes in a dark-stained rosewood case with brass handles.
The notes describe black cherry, stewed plum, blackberry and sherry-soaked chocolate gateau on the nose. The palate brings blackcurrant and bramble compote, prune and raisin wine, and cinnamon-laced chocolate espresso.
