GlenDronach – Cask Strength Batch 4 (70cl, 54.7%)

GlenDronach Cask Strength Batch 4 is the fourth release in the distillery's cask strength series, bottled at 54.7% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry casks. It is non-chill-filtered, and its natural colour comes from slow maturation in Spanish oak. Deep amber with a gleam of polished copper, it has a nose of melted toffee and wild honey, ripe figs and dates, with hints of mandarin, coffee grounds and cinnamon. On the palate, oak spice and warming ginger meet rich sherry and dark fruit, with tart plums, gingerbread, stewed barley, roasted coffee beans and a touch of walnut. The finish balances fine sherry casks with traditional Highland character.
