GlenDronach – Cask Strength Batch 5 (70cl, 55.3%)

This is Batch 5 of GlenDronach Cask Strength, a single malt bottled undiluted at 55.3% in a 70cl bottle. It is a recurring release from the distillery, which was built in 1826. At this strength the whisky takes a little water, which helps release further aromas. It is gold in colour. The nose is complex, with dried fruit, cinnamon cake and dried herbs. The palate is rich, sweet and full-bodied, with chocolate, malt and figs. The finish is long and dry, with notes of pepper and ginger.
