Glendronach Grandeur is a 25 year old single malt from Batch 8, distilled in 1991 and bottled in 2016. It matured in Oloroso sherry casks and was bottled at 50.3% in a 70cl bottle, with 1,505 bottles in the batch.
Glendronach stands in Forgue, near Huntly in Aberdeenshire. The nose is full of sherry, cherries, blueberries, almonds, raisins and marzipan, with honey and vanilla. Coffee, caramel and cinnamon lead the palate, alongside plums, dates, dried figs and mint. The finish is very long, spicy and sweet, with dark chocolate and firm oak spice.
