GlenDronach – Grandeur 28 Year Old Batch 11 (70cl, 48.9%)

GlenDronach Grandeur 28 Year Old Batch 11 is a single malt bottled at 48.9% in a 70cl bottle. Master Blender Dr Rachel Barrie chose a small number of Oloroso sherry casks for this eleventh batch, and the whisky rested in them for almost three decades. Its colour is entirely natural, drawn from the casks. The release is 3181 bottles, each numbered by hand. The nose is dark manuka honey, roasted almond and walnut, with baked plum, ginger, old leather and freshly ground coffee. The palate is full-bodied, with dark fruit and black cherry and espresso. The finish is persistent, with chocolate, liquorice and walnut.
