GlenDronach – Ode To The Embers (70cl)

This is a single malt Scotch whisky from GlenDronach in a 70cl bottle, built around peat smoke and sherry cask maturation. Oloroso sherry casks make up most of the maturation and add spiced complexity, with the distillery's Pedro Ximénez casks enriching the blend. The nose is cinnamon-spiced toffee, apple and caramelised walnut brittle, alongside flamed orange and the smell of a smouldering open fire. On the palate, raisin and honeyed walnut meld with bramble ganache and smoked chocolate fudge.
