Ode to the Embers is a Highland single malt from GlenDronach, released in 2024 as part of the Master's Anthology. It is the distillery's first peated expression, bottled at 48.4% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky was matured in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, pairing GlenDronach's sherried style with peat smoke. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The nose brings heather, charcoal, cinnamon-spiced toffee, flamed orange and walnut brittle. On the palate there are raisin, honeyed walnut, blackberry and smoked chocolate, with restrained peat. The finish is medium to long, with cocoa, salted nuts and liquorice.
