GlenDronach – Ode To The Valley (70cl, 46.2%)

GlenDronach Ode To The Valley is an unpeated Highland single malt without an age statement, bottled at 46.2% in a 70cl bottle. It is part of the Master's Anthology series from Master Blender Rachel Barrie and pays tribute to the Forgue valley, where the distillery stands. The whisky is matured in ruby port casks from Portugal's Douro Valley together with GlenDronach's signature Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. The port brings summer berries and floral nectar, while the sherry adds dark chocolate and spice. The nose offers strawberry, cherry and raspberry with floral nectar, demerara sugar and a little ginger. On the palate come blackberry, baked apple crumble, gingerbread and damson over dark chocolate and orange peel. The finish is long, with berries and warm spice.
