Glenesk – 38 Year Old 1984/2023 Gordon & MacPhail Connoisseurs Choice Refill Sherry Butt #2636

This is a 38 year old Glenesk single malt, distilled in 1984 and matured in a refill sherry butt. It was bottled in February 2023 by Gordon & MacPhail as part of the Connoisseurs Choice range, in the Recollection Series #2, and only 103 bottles were filled. The nose combines autumn spices, sultanas, wild berries and a fresh note of eucalyptus. On the palate come raspberry and redcurrant, dark chocolate, soft toffee and a hint of orange peel, with roasted hazelnuts and ripe apples in the finish.
