Refill sherry butt
This is a 38 year old Highland single malt from Glenesk, a distillery that has since closed and been demolished. It was distilled in 1984 and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in February 2023 for the Connoisseurs Choice range, at 50.5% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky matured in a refill sherry butt and was bottled as an edition of 103 bottles, presented in a wooden box. On the nose there are autumn spices, sultanas and woodland berries, with a fresh note of eucalyptus. The palate brings raspberries, redcurrants and dark chocolate, with soft toffee and orange peel. The finish is long, with roasted hazelnuts and ripe apples.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
