Glenfarclas 10 Year is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, aged ten years in sherry-seasoned oak and bottled at 40% in a 75cl bottle. Roughly 60% of the cask mix is first-fill sherry butts, with the rest refill sherry casks.
It comes from Glenfarclas Distillery at Ballindalloch, established in 1836 and owned by the Grant family since 1865. The spirit is distilled from malted barley in copper pot stills heated by direct gas fire.
The nose is honeyed malt with green apple, toffee and sherry sweetness. The palate is soft and malty, with dried fruit, citrus oil, vanilla, cinnamon and clove. The finish is medium to long and warming, with gentle sherried fruit fading into soft oak.
