Glenfarclas 12 Year Old is a Highland single malt in a 75cl bottle, from a distillery founded in 1865 and owned by the Grant family for six generations.
It is matured entirely in ex-Oloroso sherry casks, hand-picked in Jerez, and made in direct-fired pot stills with water from Ben Rinnes.
The nose is light but clearly sherried, with a touch of grassiness, plum and dates. Figs, warm bread and a slight earthy peat show on the palate, and the finish is long, with honeyed wood, dates and dark berry fruit.
