Glenfarclas – 15 Year Old (46%)

This is a 15 year old single malt from Glenfarclas, matured in Spanish sherry casks and bottled at 46% ABV. The distillery has been in family ownership since 1836. It uses unpeated barley from regional farmers, and its copper stills are fired directly by gas. The whisky is made without added colour, and it matures in dunnage warehouses. The nose is sweet with a spicy sherry note. The palate brings malt and smoke, with pastry and fruit in the background, along with orange peel, oak and black pepper. The finish is long, warm and soft, with sherry.
