Glenfarclas – 2012/2024 12 Year Old 1st Fill Sherry Butt Highlander Inn Chichibu (70cl, 61.6%)

This is a single cask Glenfarclas, distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2024 at 12 years old and a cask strength of 61.6%. It is the fifth annual release selected by Highlander Inn Japan, marking the 5th anniversary of Highlander Inn Chichibu. Tatsuya Minagawa and fellow members of Highlander Inn Japan tasted several cask samples before agreeing unanimously on one first-fill sherry butt. The bottle is labelled "108", an homage to the distillery's "105". The selectors describe a balance between classic sherry cask maturation aromas and the sweetness of dried fruit and sweets.
