This is a 25 year old Speyside single malt from Glenfarclas, bottled at 43% ABV in a 75cl bottle. The distillery stands at the foot of Ben Rinnes in Ballindalloch. It has been licensed since 1836 and owned by the Grant family since 1865, uses direct-fired copper pot stills, and matures its whisky mainly in ex-Oloroso sherry casks.
The nose offers sweet sherry, orange peel, honeyed malt, roasted nuts and cocoa. The palate is rich and velvety, with dried fruits, dark chocolate, coffee and oak spice. The finish is long and warming, with nutmeg, toffee and gentle wood tannins.
