This is a 27-year-old single malt from Glenfarclas Distillery in Speyside, distilled in 1990 and chosen for the Family Cask collection. It was matured in a sherry butt and bottled at its natural cask strength of 51.9% ABV. The release is 532 bottles.
The character is led by sherry. The nose offers dried fruits, nuts, oak and sweet spices. On the palate come raisins, dark chocolate, caramel and gentle spice, followed by a long, warming finish in which the sherry influence lingers.
