Glenfarclas – 40 Year Old

Glenfarclas 40 Year Old is a Speyside single malt from the Glenfarclas distillery in the north of Scotland, which has been family owned for six generations. The family has made whisky there for 180 years, and the distillery describes this bottling as a full-bodied malt. The nose is fresh and slightly sweet, with a first impression like opening a bag of roasted Java coffee beans. The palate is very sweet, starting with caramel and chocolate, then sherry, dark chocolate, raisins and sultanas. The finish is sweet and dry, and it lasts.
