Glenfarclas 47 Year Old Fino Cask is part of the Family Collector series, in which the Grant family select individual casks for release. This is a single-cask Speyside malt, distilled in 1966 and matured for 47 years.
The cask held Fino sherry, a drier and lighter style of sherry wood than the Oloroso butts Glenfarclas typically favours. The whisky is elegant rather than heavily rich, with nutty, oxidative notes, orchard fruit, heather honey and gentle spice.
