This Glenfiddich is a 12 year old Speyside single malt, introduced in 2022 as a Special Edition. It is bottled at 43%, higher than the distillery's usual 40%.
The whisky matures for 12 years in American and European oak sherry casks, then finishes in Amontillado sherry casks from Jerez. Amontillado casks make up less than 5% of the sherry casks Glenfiddich imports each year.
The nose offers orange marmalade, green apples, strawberry jam, dark chocolate and the nuttiness of Amontillado. The palate brings nuttiness, bubble gum, dark cherry chocolate, peaches and cream, and vanilla. The finish is smooth and mellow, with lingering spice.
