Glenfiddich 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt from the distillery in Dufftown, in a 1 litre bottle at 40% ABV. It is matured for a minimum of twelve years in a combination of American bourbon oak and Spanish sherry oak casks.
The distillery ferments in wooden Douglas fir washbacks and draws its water from the Robbie Dhu spring.
The nose is fresh and fruity, with ripe pear, green apple, gentle honey and a hint of pie crust. On the palate come canned pear and green apple, then butterscotch, cream, biscuity malt and subtle oak. The finish is creamy and mellow, of moderate length.
