This is a 12-year-old Speyside single malt from Glenfiddich of Dufftown, bottled at 43% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
The whisky matures for twelve years in American and European oak sherry casks, then receives a finishing period in Amontillado sherry casks from Jerez. That final stage is what separates it from the distillery's standard twelve-year-old.
The nose is fresh and fruity, with ripe pear and dried fruit, then cinnamon and nutmeg. The palate is honeyed fruit, sweet sherry and baked apple, with oak and toffee. The finish is mellow and of moderate length, with lingering spice and dried fruit.
