Glenfiddich 21 Year Old is a Speyside single malt matured for 21 years at the distillery, then finished in Caribbean rum casks. The Malt Master hand picks the barrels for this finishing.
The rum casks add notes of ginger, fig, lime and banana, with a spicy toffee warmth. The colour is dark gold. The nose is intense and vanilla sweet, with floral hints, banana, figs, toffee, new leather and oak. The palate starts soft, then turns brisk and drying, with pepper, a touch of smoke, oak, lime, ginger and spices. The finish is very long, warming, dry and spicy.
