Glenfiddich – 21 Year Old Reserva Rum Cask Finish (75cl, 40%)

Glenfiddich 21 Year Old Reserva Rum Cask Finish is a Speyside single malt bottled at 40% in a 75cl bottle. It was matured for 21 years in ex-bourbon American oak barrels, then finished in Caribbean rum casks. Malt Master Brian Kinsman and the cooperage team hand-selected the casks, which were filled with imported rum and left to soak for at least six months. Once the rum was removed, the whisky spent a minimum of four further months in them. The nose is vanilla and ripe banana, with toffee, dried figs and honeysuckle. The palate opens with creamy toffee, brown sugar and stewed apple, then ginger, cinnamon and black pepper. The finish is long, warming and dry, with oak, lime zest and a whisper of smoke.
