Glenfiddich – 21 Year Old Winter Storm Batch 1 Icewine Cask Finish Experimental Series (70cl, 43%)

Glenfiddich 21 Year Old Winter Storm is Batch 1, the third release in the Glenfiddich Experimental Series, limited to 8,000 bottles at 43% in a 70cl bottle. Malt Master Brian Kinsman devised it after a visit to Peller Estates in Niagara, Ontario, where he came across icewine. The whisky was fully matured in American and European oak, then finished for up to six months in French oak casks that had held Canadian icewine. The nose is tropical fruit and candied sweets with wine notes underneath. The palate moves from candied fruit and Turkish delight to lychee, then a drying sensation from the icewine. The finish is short and crisp.
