Glenfiddich 23 Year Old Grand Cru is a Speyside single malt finished for six months in French cuvée casks. These casks previously held the base wine used to make sparkling wine, and it is the only Glenfiddich expression to use this cask type.
The finish brings white grape freshness and a brioche note to the 23-year-old malt.
Tasting notes describe canned apricots in syrup, toasted marshmallows, apple blossom and honey on the nose. The fairly full palate has pears, vanilla, sawn timber, warm white bread, caramel, cloves and milk chocolate, and the finish brings toffee and instant coffee.
