This is a 26 year old Speyside single malt from Glenfiddich, bottled at 43.8% in a 70cl bottle and issued as a limited edition. The distillery took inspiration from France for the Grande Couronne.
The whisky first matured in American and European oak, then spent its last two years in ex-Cognac casks of French oak. It comes in a decorated bottle with a presentation box.
The nose offers orchard fruit cooked down into tarte tatin and poached pear, with pastry, cream, baking spice and soft oak. The palate is rich, with brown sugar, honey, custard, nutmeg and muscat grape. The finish is creamy, ending in gentle spice and polished oak.
