Glenfiddich – 30 Year Old Old Style Blue Tube 2003-2009 (75cl, 43%)

This is the Old Style Glenfiddich 30 Year Old, released between 2003 and 2009 and supplied in a tube. It is a Speyside single malt bottled at 43% ABV in a 75cl bottle. Each cask is matured for three decades before being nosed and tasted by the malt master, then vatted with other casks in small, individually numbered batches. This one is batch B259. The tasting notes describe a rich bronze colour and a nose of substantial oak balanced by fruit and sherry. The palate is complex and woody with a floral sweetness, and the finish is very long, honeyed and warm. Key notes are Oloroso sherry, fig and dark chocolate.
