Glenfiddich Age of Discovery I is a 19 year old Speyside single malt at 40% abv in a 70cl bottle. It is the first release in the Age of Discovery series, and the distillery's first 19 year old and first Madeira cask finish.
The whisky was matured in ex-bourbon casks and finished in Madeira wine casks from Henrique & Henrique. Malt Master Brian Kinsman created it, celebrating Portuguese explorers and the island of Madeira.
The nose offers ripe figs, orange marmalade, gooseberries and grapes. The palate is rich and spicy, with cinnamon, black pepper, raisins and crystallised ginger, and the finish is dry and warm, fading to sweet marmalade.
