Glenfiddich Age of Discovery II Bourbon Cask Reserve is a 19 year old Speyside single malt, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It is the second release in the Age of Discovery series and a travel retail exclusive.
The whisky spent its whole 19 years in American bourbon casks, with no secondary cask. The idea draws on the history of bourbon casks travelling the great rivers to New Orleans.
The nose offers warm toffee, deep citrus and marmalade on toast, with dried fruit, vanilla and baking spices. The palate is vanilla pod, fine leather and Havana tobacco, with cardamom, nutmeg and canned pears. The finish is warm and long, with pears and cracked pepper.
