Glenfiddich Gran Cortes XXII is a 22-year-old Speyside single malt, bottled at 44.3% and sold in a 70cl bottle. It is a limited release.
The whisky is finished in Palo Cortado sherry casks. This style of sherry falls between Amontillado and Oloroso, and it brings nutty, oxidative depth to the malt.
The nose is typically described as fig, raisin and dried apricot alongside almond, walnut and orange zest. On the palate come dried fruit, toffee, dark chocolate and soft cinnamon and clove. The finish is long, with cocoa, toasted almond, leather and cedar spice.
