This is a 31-year-old single malt from Glenfiddich in Speyside, and the distillery's first finish in Bordeaux red wine casks. It spent 22 years in American oak, followed by nine years in Bordeaux red wine casks. It is bottled at 47.6% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
It is the second limited edition in the Grand Series, announced in September 2024, and comes in a box designed by the French artist André Saraiva.
The nose opens with warm vanilla, then ripe cassis and nutty notes. The palate is rich, with caramelised cherries and apple, warming spice and toasted oak. The finish is deep, with currant, sweet vanilla and soft tannin.
