Glenfiddich Grande Couronne 26 Year Old is a limited-edition Speyside single malt from Dufftown, bottled in 2021 at 43.8% in a 75cl bottle. Around 10,000 bottles were made.
The whisky spent 26 years in American and European oak, then received an extended finish of up to two years in French Cognac casks. It is the only Glenfiddich finished in Cognac casks. The name is French for Great Crown.
The nose is lively, with toasty oak sweetness, freshly baked tarte tatin and buttery choux pastry. The palate is deep and velvety, sweet with café crème, soft brown sugar and a hint of spice. The finish is long and sweet with oak.
