Glenfiddich IPA Cask is the first release in the distillery's Experimental Series, a Speyside single malt bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It came from a collaboration with local craft brewers.
Malt master Brian Kinsman worked with the brewers on a custom IPA, which was used to season oak casks. The single malt was then finished in those casks, and it is described as the first single malt Scotch finished in IPA-seasoned casks.
In the tasting notes, the nose has green apple, pear and zesty hops, with citrus and floral touches. The palate offers orchard fruits and creamy vanilla with tangy hops and gentle malt sweetness. The finish is crisp and dry, with a hint of hoppy bitterness.
