Glenfiddich 'Suspended Time' 30 Year Old is a Speyside single malt from Dufftown, matured for thirty years in a marriage of American and European oak casks and bottled at 43% in a 750ml decanter.
It opened the Time Re:Imagined series in 2022, with Malt Master Brian Kinsman marrying the casks. The idea is to halt maturation at the moment the whisky peaks, before the wood begins to dominate. The decanter hangs inside a floating display case of moving ribbons.
The tasting notes describe a nose of oak and sweet sherry with honey, rose petals, toasted walnuts and dried fruit. The palate is silky, with dark chocolate, marzipan, toffee and heather honey, and the finish is long and honeyed, with oak tannins and cocoa.
